The first annual Spring Jam Music Fest was held at Brittlebank Park in March of 2013 during an absurdly rainy weekend.
Over 3.5 inches of rain fell in 2 days. Downtown flood. People kayaked through the market. Streets were closed and Brittlebank Park was one giant puddle.
That didn’t stop more than 3000 amazing fans from showing up for the inaugural Spring Jam Music Fest to hear the likes of Ed Sheeran, The Mowgli’s, Alpha Rev, and more.
We couldn’t have been more thankful for the commitment of the bands, the amazing fans, positive attitudes, and spectacular shows of raincoats and rainboots.
So when 2014 brought an absolute downpour of rain the night before the festival, we pulled out our Gorton’s Fisherman style foul weather gear and prepared for round 2! But alas, the rain stopped right as gates were about to open and the day turned out to be simultaneously gorgeous & hysterically muddy. There was even a naked, muddy baby spotted dancing in the puddles.
What will 2015 bring? Guess you’ll have to be there to find out!
Jam on, Charleston!
